I believe in the power of stories to teach us, to connect us, to shape our beliefs, to build empathy and understanding. I’m passionate about helping individuals to find their own voice, to explore their own truths, through telling their stories. I worked in the Wells-Ogunquit School District for 30 years as a teacher, teacher leader and administrator. I also taught and conducted research at the University of Southern Maine. I have been a writing consultant to districts throughout Maine and New England. I continue to coach writers of all ages. I especially enjoy helping high school students tell their stories for college application essays. For the last two years, I’ve been working on local anti-racist activities, including circle meetings and book discussion groups. I am excited about the Kennebunk Region BIPOC History Project. We hope to discover the hidden lives of the black, indigenous and people of color who helped to create our community. I look forward to telling their stories.
