The Rhode Island Black Heritage Society is offering tours of God’s Little Acre, the oldest and largest cemetery for enslaved and free Africans. The tour focuses on the Creative Survival of the African Heritage people of Newport; their journey from enslavement to freedom and how they created a life for themselves and prospered over a two hundred fifty-year period.

Tours will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays, from June 26th to August 15th (some exclusions). Tickets are $15/Adults (over 21), $10/Students (13-21), and free under 13. Groups of 10 or more – contact origins@riblackheritage.org for discount pricing.

*Note: Parking in the Burying Ground is limited. If possible, park at the Gateway Center – it is a 2 block walk. Limited street parking.
