Have you ever wondered about some of the earliest African-Americans in Beverly?
Explore a few of their stories through objects and documents in Historic Beverly’s collection during this virtual program.  We will show you how some Beverly citizens participated in the slave trade while others worked against the continuation of slavery in America in Abolitionist Societies.

Some stories may be familiar from our Set At Liberty on-line exhibit or our Spotlight Talk on Set At Liberty or even from our Children and Tenants of Hale Farm talk.  Others are lesser known, but no less important.  Discover some of the hidden stories of People of Color in Beverly from before the Civil War.
