The Pulitzer Center encourages educators to Apply To Join The 1619 Project Education Network!

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2022 cohort of The 1619 Project Education Network! As part of this paid, virtual program, a cohort of some 40 teams made up of administrators and educators will receive grants of $5,000 each to support exploration of key questions of racial justice and other pressing issues in a community that also includes award-winning journalists and the Pulitzer Center education team. In addition to grant funds, teams will receive access to professional development workshops and a virtual portal to collaboratively share curricula, student work, and support for one another’s work.

We invite educators, administrators, content specialists, and curriculum supervisors for K-12 schools and school districts to apply. Educators and administrators working with adults and youths in jails, prisons, or youth detention facilities are also encouraged to apply.

Applications are due March 23, 2022, at 11:59pm EST. If you have questions about eligibility, application procedure, or the Network after reading the program details here, please email us at 1619@pulitzercenter.org. We hope you will consider building a team and joining our community!
